President warns Mexicans against travel to Arizona

President Calderón warned Mexicans against unnecessary travel to Arizona, saying their human rights could be at risk, while hinting at an economic boycott: “The contribution of Mexicans to the development of U.S. society, and in particular Arizona, has been significant. I believe that not only will Mexicans lose as a result of being the target of this threat, but the U.S. and Arizona will also lose, since their citizens depend precisely on trade flows and the presence of Mexicans in the state.” Calderón said staffing had been increased at the five consulates in the state, and that the government would work through all channels to have the law repealed.
